This gallery is based thematically on the Tarot card The Eight of Swords. This card traditionally shows a bound woman surrounded by swords, and evokes a sense of physical of psychological claustrophobia, of being trapped, bound by a disability. As the imaged in this set suggest, however, this card also foresees a time of healing, convalescence, and regrouping. With this in mind the viewer will better understand the apparent obsession with figures in wheelchairs and blood transfusions.
